Phideaux is a band started by songwriter Phideaux Xavier and drummer Rich Hutchins, who with a revolving cast of friends, specialize in adventurous art rock. They have six albums, each unique and highly original in sound and content. Phideaux creates mysterious and melodic music for the sheer love of it, independently releasing recordings which have been applauded for capturing the essence of classic rock music from a perspective so unique it has been called groundbreaking.

A dark wave of progressive music for the post-punk generation, the mesmerizing and eclectic sounds of Phideaux have been described as funny, serious, doomy, derivative, innovative, pretentious, goth-tinged space folk "prog" rock... but is ultimately and seductively addictive. And like all addictions, the only way to truly understand is to try it for yourself.

UPDATE 12/02/2007

PX recently posted his track-by-track commentaries for Ghost Story and Chupacabras on Myspace--have a look!  Also, check out the Fiendish chronicle here!

Read the reviews for Doomsday Afternoon!  Additionally, don't forget "Tempest Of Mutiny", which is set to appear on an album of songs about legendary pirates called "Pirate Tales", which is accompanied by a graphic novel (aka comic book!).  Pester the folks at CypherArts.com for information on release dates and whatnot.  The album is going to be great.

Work on "Infernal" is underway!  This album will have no guest stars and contain no orchestras or additional players -- just the "live band".
